Allah Ka Rung!
What does it mean to have the color of Allah?
Once the dupatta is dyed with any other color, it will be the same colored one every time, everywhere. It won’t be white after the dye.
Once you enter Islam, recite your shahada, follow Sunnah and make pledge to obey Allah and Quran then this state, this color must be persistent in every walk of life, no ifs and buts.
Then we talked about the colors mentioned in Quran. I narrated story of Musa AS and how Bani Israel inquired about the type, color and other details of the cow when Allah asked them to slaughter a cow. Instead of obeying Allah’s command, they questioned a lot about the characteristics. So Allah gave a detailed description of the cow. It was too difficult to find that specific cow.
We talked about the three colors and states of vegetation.
A tree has a life. When a seed is sowed and later goes for germination. It grows and blooms into beautiful flowers, healthy and yummy fruits, veggies and a lot more benefit. But then comes, its downfall, its demise.
Similarly every nafs has to face death. Death is not an end but a beginning of eternal life. What we sow in this world, we shall reap.in the hereafter. Sow wisely so it can benefit later. Work hard to build hereafter!!
For this activity, we collected leaves of three different colors, Yellow, green and brown. The inspiration has been taken from Surah Al hadid, Ayah number 20. It is about leaf’s stiffness, drought and straw
as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw.[Al-Hadid:20]
This ayah talks about the color change from alive to yellow and then to a state when it is easily crush able.
Discussion points: We talked about the importance of being a mediocre. Balance is a must like we must not play whole day nor should have extended screen time. There must be equal time given to studies, quran, and etc.
Similarly, they were briefed about the mission of this life. We are in this world to gather more good deeds so we can go back to our real home that is Jannah. Our focus is to earn the home key of Jannah and not to waste our time and efforts in having pleasure of this world only. It was so amazing to see their response.
Talked about a farmer and how he sows the seed. His whole focus and attention is on the seeds and plants. He becomes happy to see seed germination and waiting to have profits. However, this state of happiness is not for long because each and everything is temporary and has to end just like a leave changes color from yellow to the dead state. We all are sent here with a task. We all will die and go back to The Lord. So we need to fasten our belts and earn as much as good deeds as we can.
- Make a three layered booklet.
- Stick the leaves according to the stages of decay
- Ask them to write the colors
- On other sheet paint the leaves with these three color shades.
- Observe the decay time and color changes. Stick it on the board to make the display and changes apparent.
We also did color sorting activity and learned color names through sticker pasting
